Our Story Begins in 1949
Sunrise Acres Egg farms is a second and third generation family farm from Hudsonville, Michigan.
Our Family farm was founded by Marvin and June Patmos with 100 chickens on their homestead in 1949.
The First Eggs
Marv’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to sell his grocery store in Morley, MI and go back to his farming roots. He began raising baby chicks in Hudsonville and took eggs a few miles north to Grand Rapids selling them door to door.
Marv learned the importance of customer service and quality from his experience in the grocery store, and put it to use as Sunrise Acres began to grow. Marv loved to farm and loved people. He believed strongly in hard work, doing things the right way, and a faith to believe the impossible.
Today's Third Generation
Marv instilled those same values to his two sons, Bill and Dick. As the second generation of Sunrise Acres formed in the 1980s, so did the customer base.
Today Bill’s two sons, Doug and Joe, form the third generation. We continue to strive for the best care of our animals and producing high-quality eggs for our home communities in Michigan and suppliers around the United States to enjoy.
